Arcadian Chorale - Directions to Sites

The Chorale has been fortunate to find excellent host sites for its rehearsals and performances. Locations for special performances vary (see "Calendar.") If you need directions for any specific site, or have questions regarding handicapped accessibility, please contact us by email or phone and we will be happy to help.

1st Presbyterian Church of Matawan
Route 34 at Franklin Street

Parking in lot behind church; handicapped parking along side of building; wheelchair ramp into building and wheelchair section in auditorium available.

FROM THE NORTH VIA GARDEN STATE PARKWAY:

Take G.S. Parkway South thru the RARITAN TOLLS. Stay to the Right after tollbooths, and continue South via the "LOCAL" lanes. Take second exit after tollbooths for ROUTE 9-SOUTH.

Continue South on ROUTE 9. When possible, get into LEFT LANE. After approximately 2 miles, take LEFT LANE EXIT for MATAWAN--ROUTE 34 South.

Continue South on Route 34 approximately 4 miles. As you pass the BUTTONWOOD MANOR RESTAURANT on your LEFT, get into the LEFT LANE (& put your blinker on to signal a left turn !)
1st Presbyterian Church will appear on the Left as you start to go uphill--TURN LEFT into FRANKLIN STREET. Go half a block & turn left into church parking lot.

FROM THE NORTH VIA N.J. TURNPIKE:

Take TURNPIKE SOUTH to EXIT 11 - WOODBRIDGE. After tollbooths, bear left up ramp & take the GARDEN STATE PARKWAY-SOUTH through the RARITAN TOLLS. Proceed as directed above.

FROM THE SOUTH:
Because neither the G.S. Parkway or the NJ Turnpike are convenient to linking into Route 34 from the South, you are advised to find the easiest approach from your location to ROUTE 34 & continue NORTH.

As you get into the Matawan/Aberdeen area, you will go through a shopping district that includes a Stop-&-Shop supermarket (on the right), a Carvel (a bit further, on the left), and Peter's Fishery (a bit further, on the right.)
About 2 blocks further north, on the right, you will soon see the 1^st Presbyterian Church. TURN RIGHT into FRANKLIN STREET. Go half a block and turn left into church parking lot.

FROM THE PARKWAY

from the North: Take Parkway South to Route 9 South. Shortly after passing entrance to Freehold Mall, take exit for West Main Street, Freehold. After ramp, continue on West Main Street toward Freehold center. At McLean Street (Freehold Savings and Wachovia Banks will be on the corner), turn right. The parking lot is ahead shortly on the left, opposite the church. Entrance to the Parish Center is at the far end of the parking lot.

from the South: Take Parkway North to Route 34 North to Route 33 West. Take Route 33 to Freehold. You will pass Foodtown on your right. Turn right at the intersection of Route 79/South Street. There is a Sovereign Bank on the right corner. Four blocks on your left is the School. Make the next left on to McLean Street. The parking lot is ahead shortly on the right, opposite the church. Entrance to the Parish Center is at the far end of the parking lot.

FROM THE NJ TURNPIKE

Go North/South on the Turnpike to Route 33 East. Take Route 33 to the fork and then take Route 33 business bypass. Cross over the intersection of Route 9 and stay on Route 33.
You will go past the Barnes & Noble and the Freehold Racetrack. At the light, Route 537/Main Street, turn left. Go 4 blocks on your right, Freehold Savings and Wachovia Banks on the corner,
turn right on McLean Street. The parking lot is ahead shortly on the right, opposite the church. Entrance to the Parish Center is at the far end of the parking lot.

FROM ROUTE 18 – (from the North) Southbound and Route 79

Take Route 18 South to the intersection of Route 79 South. Go South on 79 until you come into Freehold. As you go through the center of Freehold, continue straight on Main Street. After RR tracks, Freehold Savings and Wachovia Banks will be on the corner of McLean Street--turn left. The parking lot is ahead shortly on the left, opposite the church. Entrance to the Parish Center is at the far end of the parking lot.

From Route 18 – (from the South) Northbound

Take Rt. 18 North to Rt. 537 West. As you go through the center of Freehold, As you go through the center of Freehold, continue straight on Main Street. After RR tracks, Freehold Savings and Wachovia Banks will be on the corner of McLean Street--turn left. The parking lot is ahead shortly on the left, opposite the church. Entrance to the Parish Center is at the far end of the parking lot.

VIA GARDEN STATE PARKWAY:

Exit 102 to Asbury Park Avenue, (going East) for approximately 4 miles.
Turn left on to Main Street (Route 71 North)
Turn right on 2nd Avenue. Church is on the corner on the left.
Parking on street or in shopping plaza lot on Main St.

VIA ROUTE 18 or ROUTE 35:
Take exit for Asbury Avenue East (Route 18, exit 10), making sure to follow sign for "Asbury Park" as your go around the Rt. 35 circle. At Main Street (Route 71 North), turn LEFT. Go a few blocks and turn RIGHT on 2nd Avenue. Church is on corner on left. Parking on street or in shopping plaza lot on Main St.
